Medical Guardian Customer Review:
“I fell four times in 2018 and then a fifth time in January 2019. The first four falls were a little concussion here, some bruises there. Nothing alarming. In the fifth fall, I fractured my clavicle and broke my glasses, which gave me a good-sized cut below the eyebrow. A trip to the ER, some glue, a sling, and then some massive bruising on my shoulder and chest with, eventually, a significant scar above my eye resulted from this fall. At this point I became really concerned about how seriously I might be injured the next time, especially if I was alone. Although I never answer robocalls, for some reason I did in early February and was introduced to Medical Guardian. I decided to get the GPS monitor and it arrived quickly. The sixth fall happened outside my house before the end of February 2019. However, this time I was wearing my Medical Guardian. Because I was experiencing searing pain behind my “good” shoulder and under my arm, I called for help and it arrived quickly. Thank God I had my monitor and now I always do. I strongly recommend it for anyone experiencing falls. It is well worth the money.” – Christine M.

Classic Guardian is Medical Guardian’s most cost-effective medical alert system. The device is designed to protect you or your loved ones in and around the home. Classic guardian includes a base station, plus a wearable medical alert button (a medical alert pendant that can be worn as a necklace, or on the wrist). The base station must be plugged into a landline to operate. Users have two ways to contact Medical Guardian’s Award-winning, US-Based monitoring center: (1) Press the large call button on the base station for two-way communication, or (2) press the button on the necklace or wrist pendant to alert the monitoring center of a problem. Even if you cannot communicate directly through the base station, Medical Guardian will send help based on the preferences you set up when you receive the system (through a neighbor, family member, or another emergency contact). The button device has a range of up to 1300 feet. The pendant is water resistant, so you can wear in the shower or tub. The base station boasts a 32-hour backup battery in case of a power outage. Classic Guardian prices start at $29.95 per month, which includes a free base station and a necklace or wrist button. 24/7 monitoring is included. You can add additional features, like fall detection for an additional $10.00 per month. With an annual subscription, you get the first two months of monitoring free.
Home Guardian is Medical Guardian’s most popular medical alert system. Home Guardian is different from Classic Guardian in that it does not require a landline to operate – it relies on AT&T’s national cellular network to connect users to Medical Guardian’s award winning monitoring center. Just like Classic Guardian, Home Guardian includes a base station and either a necklace or wrist pendant with an alert button. Users have two-way communicate with the monitoring center through the call button on the base station. Or, they can press the button on the pendant to alert the monitoring center of an in-home emergency or fall. The base station has some nice features, including a digital display that shows date, time, and temperature. Because the system uses a cellular network, the pendant range is shorter than that of Classic Guardian – up to 600 feet. The pendant is water-resistant, so it can be worn in the shower, where most falls occur. The base station also has a 30 hour backup battery in case of a power outage. Home Guardian pricing begins at $34.95/month, and includes the base station and one necklace or wrist pendant button. They can be purchased on a month to month basis, or annual contract. An annual contract gives the buyer 2 months free service.
Mobile Guardian is Medical Guardian’s mobile medical alert system. This Personal Emergency Response System (PERS) is a portable device with a high quality built-in speaker that allows for two way communication with Medical Guardian’s 24/7 US based monitoring center with the touch of a button. It includes GPS technology that allows emergency personnel locate the user who is in need. The device is “always-on”, as it uses the AT&T network to stay in contact with the monitoring center. A leather carrying case is also included. Medical Guardian claims that the device and buttons are waterproof, and the pendant button and wrist button have a range of up to 350 feet. Pricing starts at $39.95 for a monthly plan, and drops to an average of $36.62 if you sign up for an annual plan.

The system has an excellent speaker and uses AT&T’s wireless network for clear communication. An adjustable lanyard allows the wearer to use as a pendant at home or on the go. The GPS and WIFI technology ensure that the wearer can be quickly and accurately located in the event of an emergency. The long-lasting battery has a life of up to 5 days on one charge. A charging base is included in the purchase. Fall detection is available as an upgrade. The base price of Active Guardian is $49.95/mo. An annual subscription of $549.00 will net an average monthly cost of $45.79. You can add fall detection for an additional $10.00/month.
Freedom Guardian is Medical Guardian’s latest entry in the medical alert system space. This medical alert watch is attractive, and extremely functional. The device has an AT&T sim card that connects to the AT&T network for fast emergency response. It includes advanced location tracking utilizing a GPS/WIFI positioning system (WiPS) that pinpoints a wearer’s exact location. The watch also includes reminders and alerts, an analog watch face and hands, delivers the weather, and can receive text messages from people in the “Care Circle”. Family Guardian is a unique product that combines traditional medical monitoring with activity monitoring that allows family, friends, and caregivers to gain access to the health and activity levels of seniors in the home. The product includes the traditional medical alert base station with call button and two-way communication as well as the pendant or wrist button. Also included are three activity sensors to monitor the movements of the senior in the home, as well as the opening and closing of the front door which notifies via app or email if the senior leaves the home. The data from the system is compiled into the activity app and can be monitored either on the desktop or cell phone. The system is slick, sending alerts via email or cell phone when unusual activity patterns are detected. Along with the base station, the senior also receives an alert button (pendant or wrist button). No phone line is needed, as the system works with the AT&T cellular network (included). the alert button has a range of 1300 feet, is waterproof, and fall detection is an option that is available.

Medical Guardian Customer Reviews:
“As an active senior who has two knee replacements in the past year my Mobile Guardian gives me the freedom to remain very active knowing that should I need help I have only to press the button to get help wherever I am. Although my alarm system for my home also has emergency alert being active in many organizations that system would not be available except when I am home.” – Donald L.
“Medical Guardian is fantastic. I had a different company for my husband, there is no comparison. The response to a call is rapid. The responders are very pleasant, very professional and very kind when they speak to me. I couldn’t ask for better service.” – Liv B.

In our visit to Medical Guardian’s offices, we observed first-hand how Medical Guardian has become one of the leading providers of medical alert systems by focusing on what matters most – their “seniors”. The staff in every department that interacts with the customer receives extensive training, with emphasis on the sensitivity often needed to help the senior through any issues that arise. We watched a training class in action, and as we did it was clear that Medical Guardian emphasises their “senior first” mantra. We listened to several calls where service reps helped a customer set up and install their new equipment, walking the user patiently through the process. We also watched the “save” team deal with customers who were cancelling their service. As with every subscription-based service, the team attempted to keep the customer, however in a polite and respectful way. when it was clear that the customer’s circumstances had changed, the CSR was quick to handle the processing of the return. Overall, The Medical Guardian customer service teams were impressive, earning high marks for their care for customers.
We also visited with the sales team, called “Life Safety Consultants”, and they worked with new potential customers. Again, we were impressed with their training, and ability to assess the senior’s particular situation, and provide a customized recommendation for their particular need. The team is certainly “trained to sell” – however, we did not observe “consultant” try and oversell a user. In candid conversation with team members, they were clear that selling consumers more than they need was not only a negative for the customer, but also for the rep, as it leads to a much higher return rate.
